Randomly it reminded me a little of RYP’s World’s Most Dangerous Places, an old book, where he and many journalists travelled to danger hot spots only to find that the US was just as dangerous and sometimes more so than many of the places they’d visited.

I can only encourage you to look at the world in the same way that you’ve found a new home, there are some great places around the world where you’ll probably feel safer than many places in the US. Best of luck in your new burg.
